Students to Visit China

Hunter Fortuin 10th grade and Xena Pullium 11th grade, both BKW students attending TVHS, are part of a contingent of Tech Valley High School students, who will depart from Albany International Airport Thursday morning for a week-long fact-finding mission in China.

The group of 15 students will be accompanied by four teachers as they make their way through numerous points of historical and cultural significance in the country. While there for seven days, they will visit Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and Tianjin.

The last part of the trip, to Tianjin, is to visit with Chinese students and faculty who toured Albany and Tech Valley High School in February. Both the Fortuins and the Pullium families hosted students from Tianjin 40 High School during that time. Some of the Chinese students even attended a BKW basketball game. This is a genuine ambassadorship as students make real global connections and even lasting friendships.

The trip was funded by the individuals attending, fundraising events and through private donations and scholarships. You can follow the group as they blog their way through China at http://my.eftours.com/leahp/china-beijing-xian-and-shanghai
