9/16

Thank you to everyone who attended Open House. It was a great way to start the school year. A special thanks to the PTA for the delicious refreshments, the Boosters for an impressive display of BKW wear that is available for purchase and the Board of Education for their willingness to meet with everyone in advance of the evenings start.

The faculty did a great job with their presentations and getting their classrooms ready. Mr. O'Brien even made it to the event on time after leaving his wife and son Liam who was born earlier in the day. Mr. O'Brien's wife must be extremely understanding!

This Friday, the BKW Athletic Department is hosting a fall sports pep rally in the gymnasium. The rally will begin at 1:40 and will be emceed by Mr. Keller. The event has been organized by the cheerleading team and is sure to be a big hit with the students. Later in the evening from 7:00- 10:00 there will be a "Welcome Back" dance for grades 7-12. Admission is $5.00 at the door. Please make sure that you are available to pick up your child at 10:00 outside of the main entrance.

On a final note, congratulations to Jordan Gonyea. Jordan was selected to travel to Washington D.C. as part of the Leadership Training Institute. There is a full story about Jordan's success in the fall edition of the Trail Blazer.

  1. Open house was a great time to see exactly what our children do on a daily basis and to meet their teachers. Congratulations to Coach O'Brien on his new baby. It would have been great if more of the 7th grade teachers had been at Open House. It was nice to see Mrs. Keyser.

  2. Thank you and I am glad that you enjoyed it. Social Studies, English and Math were all present at the 6-7 orientation on August 31st. Open House was an opportunity to meet the non-core teachers that were not present in August. I regret that this caused some confusion at Open House. I assure you that it will be clearer in the future.
